The GRK RSS-10311 Rugged Structural Screw is an elite, high-performance fastener designed as a heavy-duty alternative to traditional lag screws. Engineered with specially hardened steel, these structural screws provide exceptional tensile, torque, and shear strength for the most demanding wood-to-wood applications. Featuring a patented W-Cut thread design and a Zip-Tip point, the RSS screw facilitates a fast start and eliminates the need for time-consuming pre-drilling. Its Climatek™ coating offers superior corrosion resistance, making it suitable for both interior and exterior use, including pressure-treated lumber projects such as ledger boards, deck posts, and playground equipment.
Performance Features
- Lag Bolt Alternative: Provides structural-grade strength without the bulk or prep work of traditional lag bolts.
- No Pre-Drilling: Patented Zip-Tip™ and W-Cut™ thread design significantly reduce driving torque and prevent wood splitting.
- Climatek™ Coating: ICC-ES AC257 code-approved coating for high-level corrosion resistance in exterior environments.
- Washer Head: Built-in shield head increases clamping force and prevents the screw from pulling through the wood.
- CEE Thread™: Enlarges the hole for the non-threaded shank, reducing friction and ensuring a tight draw between materials.
