The DEWALT DW4945 4-1/2-inch Rubber Backing Pad is an essential accessory for professional-grade surface preparation and finishing. Engineered for high-speed performance with fiber resin discs, this backing pad features a specialized turbo design with spiral vents. These vents facilitate constant airflow across the disc surface, significantly reducing heat buildup during intensive grinding and sanding applications. By maintaining a cooler operating temperature, the DW4945 effectively extends the service life of abrasive discs by up to 50% while ensuring consistent material removal and a superior finish.
Performance Features
- Thermal Management: Integrated spiral vents (Turbo design) create airflow to dissipate heat, preventing disc glazing and extending abrasive life.
- Heavy-Duty Construction: Steel-reinforced rubber body provides the ideal balance of flexibility and rigidity for aggressive grinding.
- Universal Compatibility: Features a standard 5/8"-11 threaded arbor for direct mounting to most 4-1/2" angle grinders.
- High-Speed Rating: Precision-balanced to operate safely at speeds up to 12,000 RPM.
- Industrial Grade Materials: Crafted from high-quality raw materials to withstand the rigors of metal fabrication and masonry work.
