The GRK RSS™ (Rugged Structural Screw) 12223 is a high-performance, easy-to-install alternative to traditional lag screws, specifically engineered for the most demanding structural connections. Crafted from specially hardened steel, these screws offer exceptional tensile, torque, and shear strength, making them ideal for heavy-duty framing, deck substructures, and ledger board attachments. The patented design features an integrated washer head that provides massive holding power without the need for additional washers, ensuring a flush finish and a secure, professional-grade connection every time.
Performance Features
- Climatek™ Coating: ICC-ES AC257 approved for use in treated lumber, providing superior corrosion resistance for both interior and exterior applications.
- Zip-Tip™ Technology: Eliminates the need for pre-drilling and ensures faster penetration into most wood types, reducing installation time.
- W-Cut™ Thread Design: Acts like a saw blade to cut through wood fibers, significantly lowering installation torque and preventing substrate splitting.
- CEE Thread™: Enlarges the screw hole for the non-threaded portion of the fastener, drawing substrates together with maximum clamping force and reduced friction.
- Recessed Star Drive: Features six points of contact for zero-strip performance and efficient power transfer with the included T-30 bit.
