What makes the MAX TwinTier® faster than older rebar tiers?
The MAX TwinTier® incorporates a revolutionary dual-wire feeding mechanism that feeds two wires at once. This completes a full tie in just 0.5 seconds — twice as fast as single-wire tiers and up to 5x faster than manual hand tying with pliers. Furthermore, the wire pull-back mechanism tightens the tie before twisting, reducing tie height by 50% so less concrete cover is required.
Can I run MAX PowerLite® 500 PSI tools off a standard 100 PSI compressor?
No. MAX PowerLite® tools require high-pressure air operating up to 500 PSI to function correctly. They must be powered by a dedicated high-pressure compressor, such as the MAX AKHL1320E, connected via high-pressure rated air hoses (like the MAX KH100FT or KH50FT). The AKHL1320E compressor features both standard 100 PSI outlets and 500 PSI high-pressure outlets, allowing you to run conventional framing tools alongside PowerLite® tools from the same machine.
Does MAX tie wire meet Buy America and Canadian infrastructure standards?
Yes. MAX manufactures official Buy America certified tie wire rolls, including TW1061T (for RB441T, RB443T, RB611T, and RB613T) and TW898 (for RB398). Both regular black steel wire and electro-galvanized (TW1061T-EG) coils are available, meeting strict bridge, tunnel, highway, and civil engineering specifications across Canada and the United States.
How many ties can a MAX TwinTier® make on a single battery charge?
Powered by the MAX JPL91450A 14.4V 5.0Ah lithium-ion battery pack, a TwinTier® tool can complete approximately 4,000 to 5,000 ties per charge under standard jobsite conditions. With an average spool yielding approximately 120–265 ties per roll (depending on rebar combination), one battery charge easily covers multiple cases of tie wire.
