I recently tried out Dewalt's DCST970X1 String Trimmer on my 1 acre property to put it through the motions. I had gotten a little behind with with my weed eating and with about 200 ft of fence on both sides of my property and a few sheds to go around, I had my work cut out for me.
I really liked my previous Trimmer, Dewalt's 40V DCST990M1 which had no problem cutting through the deepest weeds I could throw at it so I was interested to see how the Flexvolt version would hold up. I was pleasantly surprised. The DCST970X1 has a high and low speed mode and I wanted to test it on low speed to see how much run time I could get from it. Well, after about 35 min of eating up some of the deepest grass I had to put the 3AH 60V battery on the charger. All in all, I was happy with the run time considering how dense some of my grass was.
One thing I noticed is that even on low speed I was unable to bog this thing down. It has plenty of power on low and I found that I rarely needed the High speed mode.
