I have had and used quite a few circular saws corded and cordless over my 50 plus years of carpentry , handyman and hobbies . Recently I purchased and returned the new DeWalt 60v 7 1/4 “ circular saw to Home Depot because there was drag on the saw that would slow it down from I think , friction from the shoe . No matter how hard I tried to push the saw it always seemed to be held back . I have finally started a project with the Makita 40v circular saw and find it to be the best saw I have ever owned . More powerful and no guard hangup than and like my double 18v brushed Makita saw which I still have ,the 40v cuts smooth as butter , so well that I had to physically look on the ground to see if the piece of 2x4 had actually finished cutting and had fallen to the ground . The only con I can think of would be that I thought the AWS came with the saw purchase but the chip has to be purchased separately . I am very happy with this purchase .
