The GRK 12217 RSS (Rugged Structural Screw) is an industry-leading lag screw alternative designed for heavy-duty structural applications. Engineered from specially hardened steel, these fasteners provide exceptionally high tensile, torque, and shear strength. The integrated washer head design offers immense holding power and eliminates the need for separate washers, while the proprietary Climatek™ coating ensures superior corrosion resistance, making it code-approved for use in pressure-treated lumber and exterior environments.
Performance Features
- Zip-Tip™ Technology: Pointed tip enables instant starts and eliminates the need for pre-drilling in most wood types.
- W-Cut™ Thread: Patented design reduces driving torque and prevents wood splitting by clearing out wood fibers during installation.
- CEE Thread™: Enlarges the hole for the non-threaded portion of the screw, reducing friction and allowing the wood to settle more easily for tighter joints.
- Climatek™ Coating: ICC-ES AC257 approved coating provides high-grade corrosion protection for both interior and exterior use.
- Star Drive Recess: Features 6 points of contact to eliminate cam-out and stripping, ensuring maximum torque transfer.
